The Liga Portugal Betclic and Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super supporters voted and selected William Gomes and Zé Ricardo as the authors of the Goals of the Season in the respective competitions, receiving the distinctions this Thursday at Arena Liga Portugal, in Porto.

From a total of 1569 goals scored in both competitions throughout the 2025/26 season - 821 in the first division and 748 in the second -, FC Porto's forward won the Liga Portugal Betclic vote, while the CD Feirense player won it in Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super.

William Gomes’ goal dates back to matchweek 4, in FC Porto’s 2-1 win over Sporting CP. In the 64th minute, the Brazilian drove forward down the right, shifted the ball onto his left foot and, from the edge of the box, curled a precise shot into the top corner of Sporting CP's goal.

"It is a great pleasure to be here. I want to thank God, my family, my friends, my teammates and the FC Porto staff, who were all very important this season. I am very happy and now I want to turn the page, because the 2026/27 season promises to be an exciting one", said the Dragons’ number 7, who received the distinction from Tiago Simões, Country Manager at Betclic.

In Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super, the Goal of the Season was scored by Zé Ricardo on matchweek 33, against UD Oliveirense. Following a pass from Jojo, the CD Feirense player took a remarkable first touch to leave an opponent behind, before finishing with a powerful strike that found the back of the net, earning the fans’ vote.

João Melo, General Manager of Meu Super, presented the award to Zé Ricardo, who said he was honoured by the recognition. "I would like to thank Liga Portugal for this recognition, as well as my teammates and coaching staff, and everyone who was part of this journey this season, especially my family", he said.
