Arena Liga Portugal welcomed members of the “Stop Radicalisation” initiative this Thursday, a European project aimed at improving the quality of prevention work against radicalisation and extremism in sport, particularly among young people with fewer opportunities.

With the support of the Portuguese Association of Physical Education Professionals (APEF), the visit began at the Liga Portugal LAB facilities with an institutional presentation led by Sara Costa, Liga Portugal’s Social Responsibility Project Manager. The session focused on the mission, vision and values of the Fundação do Futebol, as well as the various projects and campaigns developed over the years in this field.

In a second moment, Sara Marques, from the Prevention, Education and Services team of the Portuguese Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sport (APCVD), presented the entity’s main objectives and initiatives, sharing concrete examples of field intervention and highlighting the importance of proximity and awareness in preventing risky behaviours.

Throughout the visit, participants also had the opportunity to explore the different areas of the home of Professional Football, including the Official Store, the Kids space and the Legacy Museum.

The activity provided direct contact with the work carried out by Liga Portugal in the field of Social Responsibility, reinforcing the role of Professional Football as a tool for inclusion, education and social transformation.
