On course for the most prolific season of his career, Vangelis Pavlidis has been a key figure in SL Benfica’s campaign, a level of influence that has earned him the Liga Portugal Betclic Player of the Month award for the first time this season.

The 27-year-old Greek international collected 21.37% of the votes from the competition’s head coaches, once again seeing his name added to Liga Portugal’s official honours in December, after also being named the competition's Continente Forward of the Month.

Wearing number 14 for the Eagles, Pavlidis had an outstanding month, individually contributing with four goals and one assist in the four matches played in the competition during the period under review, in which the Reds defeated FC Famalicão (1-0) and Moreirense FC (4-0) – with a hat-trick from Pavlidis –, drawing against Sporting CP (2-2) and SC Braga (2-2).

In the voting, SL Benfica's striker overcame Luis Suárez (Sporting CP), with 16.24% of the votes, and Rodrigo Zalazar (SC Braga), who received 9.40% of the coaches' preferences.
