In the first leg of the Liga Portugal Betclic Playoff, AFS hosted and defeated FC Vizela 3-0, taking a commanding lead in the tie for the final spot in next season’s top-flight competition.

After a goalless first half, the breakthrough came from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute. Gustavo Assunção calmly slotted the ball down the middle to put the hosts ahead.

Then came Tunde’s moment, as he struck twice in just three minutes. First, in the 67th minute, after a burst down the right wing, the number 11 held off a defender, cut inside the box, and finished with his left foot.

His second came in the 70th minute, once again outpacing the Vizela backline and meeting a pinpoint cross from Rafael Rodrigues in the heart of the area to make it 3-0 — the final score.

A comfortable advantage for the Vila das Aves side ahead of the second leg, which takes place next Sunday, 1 June, at the Estádio do Futebol Clube Vizela, though Fábio Pereira’s team will still look to respond.
