Tiago Silva's direct corner-kick goal wins him Goal of the Month for August

His superb goal against Gil Vicente FC, in Matchday 2 of the Liga Portugal Betclic, was a fan favourite

"It's a corner for Vitória SC. Tiago Silva hits it and... goal!" - This isn't the most common description of a corner kick, but the midfielder from the Guimarães side decided to to hit a direct corner-kick, thus levelling the scoreboard against the Gilistas.

It was on the second matchday of the Liga Portugal Betclic that the No. 10 scored this masterpiece and paved the way for the comeback and consequent victory against Gil Vicente FC (2-1).

Tiago Silva beat off competition from his teammate Nélson da Luz, who also scored a fine goal in the same match, as well as Rafa Mujica and Cristo Gonzaléz (both from FC Arouca), João Marques (Estoril Praia) and Leonardo (Estrela Amadora).
