Liga Portugal unanimously approved, during the Ordinary General Meeting held at the body’s headquarters, in Porto, the Activity Plan and Budget for the 2025-26 season.

In the assessment, discussion and voting of the first Budget and Activity Plan under Reinaldo Teixeira’s presidency, the Executive Board drew up a consolidated document of its corporate group, compiling, in addition to Liga Portugal’s budget, the budget of its affiliates: Liga Infraestruturas, Liga Comercial, Liga Centralização, Fundação do Futebol and Liga Portugal Business School.

This document establishes as strategic priorities the support for the Sports Societies, the reduction of contextual costs, addressing alcohol consumption in stadiums, increasing attendance, fighting piracy and placing a strong focus on a content-driven strategy, targeting the centralization of audiovisual rights.

From a budget perspective, global revenues are projected to be above 31.8 million euros, the highest amount in the institution’s history, which will allow for a record distribution of dividends to the Sports Societies, exceeding 10 million euros, with the forecasted operating results set at 580 thousand euros.

However, this is expected to be a particularly demanding financial year for Liga Portugal’s treasury, especially as it will be the first full year in which the costs associated with operating and maintaining the Arena Liga Portugal building will be reflected in the institution’s accounts.

Aware of this new context, the Liga Portugal Executive Board reaffirms its commitment to ensuring thorough and efficient management, adopting all necessary measures to achieve financial balance, including the renegotiation of its financing contracts or the use of new financial management tools, aiming to ensure full compliance with its obligations and the sustainability of operations throughout the season.
