FC Alverca hosted and defeated UD Oliveirense 4-0, drawing level with FC Vizela in second place — a side who travel this evening to face league leaders CD Tondela.

The deadlock lasted only four minutes. Ageu received the ball on the edge of the area and struck a powerful, curling shot to open the scoring for the hosts, a lead they held into the break.

In the 64th minute, it became 2-0. Reinaldo recovered the ball on the edge of the area, feinted a run to the left but played a backheel to David Bruno, wrong-footing the opposing defence and setting free the number 22 to double the Ribatejo side’s advantage.

Pires, scoring his first goal for the club, made it 3-0. Reinaldo was again involved, this time on the right wing of Alverca’s attack, providing the assist to the Portuguese midfielder, who curled a composed finish from the edge of the box.

The final touch on the scoreline came from Bukia, also opening his account for FC Alverca. A home counter-attack with a three-on-one advantage, Pires crossed, and the Congolese forward controlled in front of goal and calmly slotted home to make it 4-0.

The side coached by Vasco Botelho da Costa now have 51 points and climb to second place, holding the head-to-head advantage over Vizela (who have a game in hand), while the team from Oliveira de Azeméis remain below the relegation line with 25 points.
