Marquinho takes the Midfielder of the Month award in Liga Portugal SABSEG

The Académico player got the same number of votes as his teammate, but comes out on top for having a fewer number of minutes played

It was 12 minutes that made the difference between Marquinho and Messeguem in January's Liga Portugal SABSEG Midfielder of the Month election. The two Académico players both took 10.37 per cent of the votes from the competition's managers, with the 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder taking the honours for having fewer minutes played (353' against 365').

Marquinho also stood out by scoring two goals in the four games played by Académico during the period in question, while Messeguem also scored in the match against U. Leiria.

Completing the podium in this vote was AVS's Benny, with 8.89 per cent.
