Gyökeres wins Liga Portugal Betclic Player of the Month

The Sporting CP Swedish striker adds the award to his Forward of the Month accolade

Gyökeres, Sporting CP's summer signing, was voted Liga Portugal Betclic's Player of the Month for September, racking up 22.96% of the votes from the head managers of the main professional football competition.

The Swedish international, who also won the Forward of the Month award, beat Di María (SL Benfica) and Carlinhos (Portimonense), who got 13.33% and 10.37% of the votes respectively.

During the month of September, the 25-year-old striker started three of four matches, winning thrice and drawing against SC Braga. Gyökeres scored twice against SC Farense and registered an assist in the win against Moreirense FC.
