In front of 49,557 spectators, equivalent to 98 percent of the capacity of the José Alvalade Stadium, Sporting CP hosted and defeated Portimonense 3-0, this Saturday, in a match of the 32nd round of the Liga Portugal Betclic.

With this triumph, the Sporting team reinforced their lead in the standings, putting themselves three points away from celebrating the national title, with two rounds left in the competition. Meanwhile, Portimonense sits in 16th place in the table, with 28 points.

Sporting CP's victory began to take shape in the 13th minute, with Paulinho making the most of a low cross from the left by Nuno Santos in the heart of the area. In the second half, Paulinho broke free on the left and assisted Trincão for the 2-0, while Gyökeres sealed the final result in the 90+2 minute.

The match was also marked by a tribute to Manuel Fernandes, with applause from the crowd in the ninth minute, the habitual number of the historic Sporting CP player and current Senator of the Foundation of Football - Liga Portugal, who is currently dealing with health issues.
