Sporting CP beat SC Farense 4-2 this Thursday, with a hat-trick from Gyökeres in the second matchday of Group C of the Allianz Cup. Rúben Amorim's team leads with the same three points as the Algarve side, who beat CD Tondela 1-0 in the first matchday, and is in a good position to reach the Final Four.

In Alvalade, Gyökeres was the star of the evening. In the 24th minute, Trincão received the ball in midfield, skipped past Artur Jorge and ran down the right to assist the Swedish international, who appeared in Ricardo Velho's face to make it 1-0, and needed just four minutes to make it the 2-0. Trincão was brought down in the area by Cláudio Falcão and the striker converted the penalty.

At the start of the second half, SC Farense reduced the deficit through Mattheus Oliveira, who shot from outside the box to make it 2-1 in the 48th minute. The home side reacted and Nuno Santos made it 3-1 in the 56th minute. A long pass from Pedro Gonçalves gave Gyökeres his hat-trick in the 63rd minute and he stepped up to take control of the ball on the edge of the box, took Artur Jorge out of the way and fired home to make it 4-1. Alvalade also saw a sixth goal in the 79th minute, with Vítor Gonçalves' shot making it 4-2.

In the final match of Group C, on 23 December, Sporting CP will visit CD Tondela.
