Roger Schmidt elected Manager of the Year of the Liga Portugal bwin 2022-23

SL Benfica's coach led the team to their 38th national title

In a voting done by the head coaches and team captains of the 18 teams participating in the Liga Portugal bwin 2022-23, Roger Schmidt has been elected as the Manager of the Year.

In his first season with SL Benfica, the German coach led the team to their 38th national title, securing 28 victories in the 34 games played and accumulating a total of 87 points in the league.

Roger Schmidt, 56 years old, emerged as one of the key figures of Benfica's season, as they also claimed the titles for the best attack and the fewest goals conceded in the competition. The German coach additionally received three Liga Portugal bwin Manager of the Month awards.
