On Matchday 29’s closing fixture, CD Mafra claimed a 4-2 victory over FC Penafiel, in a match where the visitors once held a two-goal lead.

The encounter started brightly for Penafiel, who went ahead after just eight minutes. Zé Leite reacted quickly to a rebound after Fraisl’s incomplete save, slotting the ball home from close range.

In the 26th minute, Robinho doubled the lead from the penalty spot, sending the Mafra goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.

But the story was far from over. In the 42nd minute, the comeback began. Vitor Gonçalves delivered a corner, and Etim headed home to cut the deficit in half. The momentum had shifted, and just four minutes later, Lucas Gabriel produced a moment of magic with a backheel cross, setting himself up for a brace and levelling the match at 2-2 before half-time.

The turnaround was completed in the 61st minute. Rochez attempted an acrobatic shot but ended up assisting Nibe, who calmly slotted it past the keeper to make it 3-2.

Still not satisfied, Paulo Alves’ side pushed forward and found a fourth. In the 68th minute, Lucas Gabriel dazzled again with a brilliant solo run before setting up Rochez for the final goal of the night — 4-2.

With this win, CD Mafra boosts their chances of survival. Though they remain at the bottom of the table, they are now just one point behind UD Oliveirense and five away from FC Porto B, who currently sit in the relegation playoff spot. FC Penafiel, meanwhile, remain in eighth place with 43 points, falling further behind in the promotion race.
