FC Penafiel secured a spot in the 2nd stage of the Allianz CUP, after beating Moreirense on penalties (4-3).

In regular time, the match ended in an one-all draw, with Rui Pedro putting the hosts in front in the 66th minute, while Franco restored the equaliser right after two minutes.

On the penalty shootout, the Penafidelenses were more efficient and are now through to the next stage of the competition.

Next Saturday, the team under manager Pedro Ribeiro will visit Estrela da Amadora.
